    Salamander Springs Farm

    Seeds for Community Resilience

Known for its flavorful, nutrient-dense vegetables, fruits, cornmeal, popcorn and dry beans, Salamander Springs Farm started on a logged ridge-top without topsoil in 1999. Susana Lein built fertile, living soils of high organic matter without fertilizers—using continuous no-till cover/crop cycles, poultry, farm-made compost, contour swales and rainwater catchments. Completely off-grid, she built a tiny house and farm structures with local wood, clay & straw.
