Caroline Ideus grew up in rural central Nebraska. Both sides of her family have been involved in agriculture for over 100 years; it is in her blood. Growing up, she was very active in 4-H, showing small animals, exhibiting horticulture goods, and participating in poultry, horticulture, meat identification, and wildlife habitat evaluation contests. Her 4-H experience motivated her to explore and learn about the world. She’s taught English as a Second Language and lived abroad for a combined 7 years and 6 years at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She recently received her second Master’s degree in Strategic Communication at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She is currently serving as co-manager of the Martin Farmers Market through the City of Martin. She won the Weakley County Young Professional Award in 2025. Caroline‘s experience working and living with people from other cultures has taught her the deep connections people make with their culture and land through their food traditions. She would like youth and adults in Northwest Tennessee to develop and share a similar enthusiasm to the food and land that surrounds them.
