Since 2015, Jesse has owned and managed Athena's Harvest Farm, a small, diversified fruit and vegetable farm south of Nashville. Before that, he worked on several farms across the United States, and later served as an agricultural extension agent with the Peace Corps in Gabon. He then worked with farmers for NGOs in West, Central, and East Africa and in Haiti, and earned a Master's Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Vermont. A teaching farm, by design, Athena's Harvest trains young farmers each season, hosts school groups, agricultural workshops, and community gatherings, and sells vegetables, fruits, flowers, and value-added goods at Nashville-area farmers’ markets.
