Rishitha Nalabothu is a second-year medical student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine with interests in food insecurity, health equity, allergy/immunology research, medical dermatology, as well as life cycle analyses. As vice president of the Vanderbilt Educational Garden Initiative (VEGI) and Food Resources for the Underserved in Tennessee (FRUIT), she is involved in efforts to increase access to fresh produce, connect local food systems with clinical and community-based care, and promote sustainability in medicine. She aspires to improve nutrition-related health disparities and build sustainable, equity-centered partnerships that support families beyond the walls of the hospital.
