RESOURCE: 2026 Southeastern U.S. Vegetable Crop Handbook
Good morning,
It was great to see so many folks at the Pick TN Conference! Since we shared so much information at the conference, we are taking the week off from TN Produce Growers, but we are excited to share that the 2026 Southeastern U.S. Vegetable Crop Handbook is now online.
The 27th edition of the Southeastern U.S. 2026 Vegetable Crop Handbook represents a joint effort among Extension specialists and researchers from 15 land-grant universities in the U.S. These specialists and researchers represent a wide array of disciplines: vegetable production, entomology, plant pathology, postharvest physiology, soil science, weed science, and produce safety.
This handbook comprises up-to-date information developed from research and Extension projects conducted across the Southeast. It contains the information that you need to manage your vegetable crops, including which varieties to plant, planting dates, fertilizer recommendations, cover crop selection and conservation tillage options, pesticide selection, grafting, fertigation, plasticulture, postharvest handling, and alternative pest management tools, as well as many other topics.
While it has a new look, it still provides the same great information as always. We are working with a publisher to provide a print-on-demand version and will let you know the details of that, as they become available.
