‘Farm to Stay’ Grant Program
Airbnb and American Farmland Trust announced a new ‘Farm to Stay’ Grant Program, which will offer farmers and ranchers up to $10,000 per grant to start or expand an agritourism stay or experience. The grant program will help farmers renovate or prepare their properties to host overnight guests, or to launch agritourism experiences. ‘Farm to Stay’ Grant applications will open in November.
“Through the ‘Farm to Stay’ Grant, we’ll give agricultural communities a critical foothold in a growing sector that can help bring stability and predictability to an industry facing serious headwinds,” said Ashley Brucker, American Farmland Trust Senior Manager of Grantmaking, Brighter Future Fund. “With interest in farm stays increasing, our partnership with Airbnb could not happen at a better time. For over four decades, our mission has been to protect America's farmland and help sustain the livelihoods of our farmers and ranchers. The opportunity to develop new revenue streams, in this instance through stays and experiences, has become essential to that work.”
