HIRING: Two School Gardens’ Positions
A New Leaf Nature School is hiring for two positions this spring.
Gardener Role: We’re hiring a School Gardener to develop and maintain productive, beautiful growing spaces across our campuses. This person will lead day-to-day garden operations for high tunnels and greenhouses, planters, raised beds, in-ground rows, vegetable and flower gardens, and the food forest—while building systems that make the work sustainable with students, teachers, and volunteers.
A core goal of this role is to increase harvest quality and consistency so that, over time, production can break even with the costs of materials and labor (through sales, CSA-style offerings, farm stand, school kitchen use, plant starts, flowers, workshops, etc.
Farm Hand: You’ll be responsible for the daily care of chickens and goats, plus weekly upkeep of the barn, coop, and grounds so the farm stays safe, clean, stocked, and functional. This role is hands-on and varies week to week: feed and water, cleaning and composting, purchasing, organizing and stocking supplies, mowing and weeding, fence and gates repair, pest monitoring, and seasonal projects like weatherproofing the coop and preparing the high tunnel for planting.
